Home sauna maintenance: a simple routine that keeps it new
After each session, wipe the benches and leave the door open to dry the room. Each week, vacuum the floor and wipe the backrests. Each month, clean the benches with a mild sauna cleaner. Each year, check the heater stones and elements, and clean and treat the timber. Never varnish the inside of a sauna.

Steam rooms
Rinse the walls after use, keep the drain clear, clean the grout monthly, and descale the generator as the manufacturer recommends. Dubai water is hard, so descaling matters.
What never to do
Never varnish the inside, never use bleach on the timber and never cover the heater.
- Never varnish or paint the inside of a sauna. It gives off fumes when hot and makes benches too hot to touch.
- Never use bleach on the timber.
- Never cover the heater.

Questions
How do I maintain a home sauna?
Wipe the benches after use, leave the door open to dry the room, and vacuum the floor weekly. Once a year the heater stones should be checked and the timber cleaned and treated. Our care plan covers this visit.
Do you offer a warranty?
Every build comes with a two year workmanship warranty. Heaters, infrared panels, steam generators and controls carry the manufacturer warranty, which we register for you at handover.
How much does a home sauna cost to run?
Running cost depends on the heater size and how often you use it. An infrared sauna draws around 1.5 to 3 kW and a traditional heater around 6 to 9 kW. Multiply the heater size by your session length and your DEWA tariff to estimate a session.
Are saunas good for your health?
Regular sauna use is linked in long running Finnish research with better cardiovascular health, and many people use it for relaxation and recovery. It is not a treatment for any condition. Check with your doctor first if you are pregnant or have a heart condition or high blood pressure.
